I am a third year student at Syracuse University pursuing a B.S. in Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and a B.A. in History at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Through my work in the communications field, I have written on a variety of topics; ranging from U.S. politics to college drinking culture, to the painful process of growing up. As an opinion columnist for the Daily Orange, i've made it my mission to tackle these often oversaturated issues from unique and thought-probing angles.
Growing up in the D.C. area informed my belief in the importance of accessible and digestible information. Like many others, I believe that knowledge is our biggest source of power. This core belief has fueled a motivation to understand others by listening.
Alongside listening, my skills in pattern recognition and contextualization which i've developed through my study of history have greatly helped me through the start of my career as a journalist.
In the current moment, I am most interested in going into the field of documentary filmmaking, combining my writing and visual storytelling skills with my deep interest in exploring the human experience in all its complexity.
