Below is a short documentary I made for a visual news reporting class at Newhouse. It surrounds Marshall Street, a very popular Syracuse spot located right next to the university. In my reporting, I was able to conduct interviews with individuals who frequent Marshall Street for various reasons.

I argue that SU students often limit these individuals to the status of  "characters," rather than real humans. This mentality feeds the divide between the university and greater city of Syracuse.

Opinion: Accepting taboos as new norm dilutes conversation, personal thought

In feeling the effect of all the words unsaid in class last week, I determined for the first time that a culture of fear has permeated our classrooms in a way that seriously damages the educational experience for both students and educators.

Opinion: Reality contradicts media’s portrayal of vast generational gaps

From what I gathered, it seemed the dynamic we’ve accepted is a rite of passage for older generations to make fun of the generation entering the adult world – in return, it’s the younger generation’s right to be angry or defiant. This all results in a deeper divide between the cohorts – but according to the theory, that’s okay.

Opinion: Study history’s patterns to combat Trump’s corruption

You might think our historical knowledge and natural desire to advance society would deter us from toying with the same terrible ideas that have historically resulted in pain. But the nuances of history and predictability of patterns right now reveal a different story.

As a media intern for the CNY Women's Network in spring of 2023, I worked on a few profile pieces for their blog.

Attached below is a piece I wrote on Melanie LittleJohn, marking the first official day of her term as the CEO of the Central New York Community Foundation.

Beat Writing: Housing

Beat Writing: Housing

At Newhouse, all MND students take Reporting (MND305). Each student is given the opportunity to select a beat to write on.

During my semester I picked housing as my beat. In the wake of a Syracuse housing crisis and the I-81 viaduct removal, I found that my work could only graze the surface of an issue that I have since been highly interested in reporting on.
